Darkness Falls
Darkness falls
shoving my precious blues and violets
down the black hole of depression.
I no longer remember
how to smile
or create
or spar.
I wish to disappear
into the darkness
until the light returns.

Thank you for your concern, yes, I am better. April is a bad time for me. I know it is a time of beauty and new life and most people are feeling liberated. But we are approaching April and Spring and T.S. Eliot said “April is the cruelest month” and that certainly is how it is for me. Yet the Spring Peepers come out and the salamanders and they bring great joy. Two old columns coming up about them. Thanks again, Bert. Your caring means so much.
