Through the Green Lightly…
through the pale veil of green
the tusset grasses grow
as the greening of the marsh
intensifies each longer day
while below frogs
and turtles
and fairy shrimp
dance their rite of spring
prey for the ducks,
crows, bald eagles,
ephemeral lives
we watch
nature raw
unawares
of the fragility
of us
Lovely and lyrical – with a familiar theme of our fragile lives. Beautifully done.
