Thank you, Ronnie🙏🏽 This was the outer reaches of a huge estate right next to our teeny barn. We were so blessed by what surrounded us. Miss it lots but life goes on, realities are faced, and we are blessed and challenged in different ways here in the big city. Still in all, it was a magical place with coyote, bear, fishers, bobcat and many other more peaceful critters. Mostly I miss the winter moon at 3 AM in the snow.

Recently whilst in someone’s small and peaceful garden, I pondered on nature versus concrete and exhaust fumes. All the garden needed was a couple of rabbits and it would have been idyllic.

The views of nature and being “immersed” in nature was a heavenly experience. However, a barn surrounded by nature also provided many challenges as we found out as we got older and older. It was quite wild up there. Having said that my heart still flutters when I look at it or write about it.

Living in an environment surrounded by nature, but also relatively convenient to access necessary services, is to me the right balance. It is something that has become more achievable for people who are now able to work from home. That is why since Covid a lot of people have moved to Scottish isles.

Yes, you have to have access to services,as well as, access to nature and we were really in the middle of nowhere.
