TRIUMPH OF SPIRIT IN LOVE, NATURE & ART

The Backyard Circus

P1110792

Did you ever stop to think

what it is like

to hang mid-air from a leaf’s edge

P1110973 copy

or to glide along a leaf

blowing in the breeze–

or crawl upside down

upon veined slopes of green?

O

or to give’s one’s all

to a loved one

stories high from the ground

hanging onto her for love

and dear life?

*

Such feats go on all day long,

ignored by you–

our talents unacknowledged–

because we are lowly creatures in your eyes

and yet we can do

acrobatic feats

you cannot even approximate.

Did you ever stop to think?

  1. That is a wonderful introduction to nature 101. It is true that so much goes on without our ever seeing it and being able to appreciate it. When I move, I intend to get back to the wonderful world of nature as I learned and loved it growing up. I found such beautiful concepts and interesting lessons I couldn’t learn in a book or by man

      • I am almost there. But I feel much grief yet over all the losses. That will take time, but time heals is we want it to.

  3. That’s a circus, we were meant to be acrobats and jugglers just like them, jokers we became. Beautiful poem and awesome pictures Ellen. Bravo!!
