I’m familiar with BB King and James Brown. Bobby Bland I’ve not heard of even though I may have heard his songs. Awesome talents! 🙂

It’s amazing how these artists gave joy and pain a place to coexist so seamlessly, with this music.

They call it the “blues” but we love hearing it nonetheless! The best in the business here.

Thanks for writing. I agree. But am finding some ones I didn’t know about on YouTube. Santa bought me earphones which really make every sound audible. It’s fantastic!

Thank you so much for the offer da-AL!! I am at a low point for creativity now and for quite some time but I will dig up something that might be good. Thx again, Ellen

Ellen, my first exposure to James Brown was the year my high school was integrated. One of the Black students lip-synced to a James Brown song, danced, and did a “split” in the talent show. Most of the music I knew was learned in Church. I was amazed by the performance! Thank you for bringing back those memories! ❤
Wishing you and yours peace and joy in 2024!

Hi, Cheryl, thank you for the new year wishes for peace and joy. The very same to you and your loved ones!! I was lucky enough to have been introduced to Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker in high school, too, by some friends. That was the beginning of my love affair with the blues. James Brown came into my life later. What a nice introduction you had.

Music has no harm if it is composed by heart. Artists always try to connect the audience by heart. Very beautiful post.
