  3. The stark contrast of colors on the canvas of the snow is striking. 🙂

  4. So pretty, the berries in the first photo look like rubies set against the white snow. I wonder if the second one is wild dogwood.

  5. There’s something so stunning about the bright red against the backdrop of snow. It makes me think of a huge picture of beauty framed by the stark whiteness of snow. Wonderful!

  6. These are beautiful. Much like red cardinals backdropped by snowy scenes, these subjects really “pop” here!

  7. Beautiful! You’re still there. I don’t know if you remember me from Living in Stigma my blog. I’m from Canada, just to refresh your memory. I’m still glad you are still posting, I seemed to have stopped in Oct 22. Life has been tough. In January 1993 my husband died suddenly of a heart attack and I have been somewhat of a mess. I haven’t written anything and seem to spend my days if a depressive fog. Right now I am in the hospital ( since Nov 7, trying to get over my first Christmas without him). I miss our chats. I just posted an article and hope to do more, Miss you, Deb

    • I wondered what happened to you and knew that your silence was not a good sign. You are on my prayer list so I pray for you every morning and wondered about you and assumed you were back in the hospital. But I never dreamt your husband died suddenly. How horrible!! I am so very, very sorry. I know you said he was so understanding. This is what I fear the most. I cry about it constantly. So terrible!! Well, I continue to pray for you extra now that I know the story. My heart goes out to you. May God give you some piece. Thanks for writing. I didn’t see your new post. I’ll look again. Best wishes for some relief from suffering.

  11. How I like the red stems of derain in winter. They are very decorative.
But red berries on the snow are associated with splashes of blood. A feeling of tragedy.
