“Nature is very beautiful; but still, in one sense, it is very silent: it tells us of the beauty of everything without revealing the Beauty that is behind everything.”

  1. I definitely associate winter with silence. Beautiful photos and meaningful quote! Thank you for bringing me the beauty of nature and the wisdom of a great master, Ellen. Much appreciated! Lots of light and blessings to you, my friend, today and always!

  3. The snow mounds in the first photo, look so sculptural and surprisingly animal like. It’s almost like a drama was taking place on the pond and the snow fell, capturing a moment.

    • Oh, Julie, I really like your interpretation of the animal like mounds. You are so good at writing explanations of what we are seeing.
Thank you so much for words.🥰

  4. The beauty of nature is found in its grand diversity. The wonder of a massive redwood compared to the delicacy of a butterfly can’t help but point to a Grand Designer whose creativity is greater than our imaginations. I love your photos. You definitely have an eye for beauty.

  5. The spectacular beauty of nature is founded in its grand diversity. It’s comparing the massive redwood to the delicate beauty of a colorful butterfly. It all points to a Master Designer. I love you see beauty in all things. And people.

  6. Love the title of this post, “Pattern of Forms”. For certain, as Yogananda asserts, “Nature tells us the beauty of everything”. I did not quite have my glasses on the first time I saw the beautiful photographs and I thought the first image was a flock of sheep with their white coats melding with the winter snow. So beautiful, then I looked down and saw the photograph of the lone sheep. I put my glasses on and indeed the caption of the first photo was “The Marsh in Winter”.

I then saw what you meant by the “Pattern of Forms”. Indeed, Nature not only tells us of her beauty, but reveals her patterns as well. Thank you for sharing this wondrous thought, Ellen.

  7. “The Marsh in Winter” looks very much like a herd of sheep. Your “Sheep in Winter” would love to join them! 🙂

    • Hi Nancy,
Yes, I thought so, too. They are actually swamp plants. But you’re right, my sheep would like to join them. Thanks for stopping by and your adding your humor. 😊

  9. I love the snowy sheep bushes. We actually had a trace of snow flurries today with frozen birdwater bowl.

    • Wow, Cheyenne!! Crazy!! Thanks for stopping by. Those sheep bushes were actually swamp grass bushes in summer with a stream. It was an idyllic spot. Miss it lots.
