The Wave in the Ocean (adapted from a talk given by Swami Sarvapriyananda)

A wave floating upon the ocean
of conciousness
I know the end is near
for I see the shore ahead
upon which I will crash
and become droplets of ocean spray
flying way up high
in the sky
only
to fall to earth
again as a wave
in the ocean
only to die again when I hit the shore
in a seemingly endless cycle of births and deaths and rebirths
until a sunbeam enlightens
and the I
evaporates
and finally will be vaster than the ocean
in the infinite consciousness of space
no more to be reborn.

Wahhh!
Chamatkaar!
Wonderful!
The ultimate truth is reflecting through your poetry.
Great 😊
Namaskar Ellen!
A beautiful presentation by you.

Bahut, bahut dhanayawaad! But I only used his words adding an extra concept at end which I don’t know if he would agree with. I thank you so much for your encouragement and support and guidance. Means so much to me, Arun. Received my copy of “The Divine Matrix” but am reading a book by Swami Sarvapriyananda on Kindle first. Thank you, again, Namaskar, Ellen

Thank you so much for your reply.
At the end of your poetry you have said the right thing. Why you know?
If you read panchagni vidya, written in Chhandogyo Upanishad chapter-5, you will find similar concept. I will share with you.
By the way, I have not read the book by Swami Sarvapriyananda ji, that you referred. Dissolve into infinity.
It will be an awesome read.
I will buy.
Wish you a happy read: The Divine Matrix.
Thanks again.
Regards
Namaskar

The Kindle book I am reading by Swami Sarvapriyananda is called “Dissolve into Infinity”.

Very beautiful and profound, Ellen! The come and go of the soul mystically described in the analogy of the ocean and the wave (one of my favorites!). Thank you for this gem; I resonate a lot with your words. Lots of light, love, and blessings to you, precious friend; have a peaceful day*

Dear Susana,
Thank you so much, dear friend, for your encouragement. I am so happy it resonated for you! Yes, the ocean metaphor is my favorite, too. Blessings to you, Ellen

This is beautiful, Ellen, the way your art reflects the Hindu philosophy and religion. The colors and hues of your art reverberate with the poetry, sadness, and ecstasy.

I am so glad you liked it, Gigi! I did think of you as I was writing it. But it is all from the Swami’s mouth except for the last step.

Thank you so very much and it was beautiful and the perfect description of life on the wheel. The imagery of the ocean and droplets is so lovely, until we lose the I and are finally finished. Just wonderful.

That’s an amazing poem that resembles a stream of thought. Your painting of a wave appears to show the head of the Loch Ness Monster reaching out of the water to fetch a nearby fish to eat. 🙂
