Having worked as a mental health therapist for so long, I felt this image as I did in my own patients. They were in a long term mental health facility that was not the state hospitals they were once in. I allowed myself to see, feel, touch, hear and taste all the many emotions they did. I wanted to understand. I felt this in them and it was more powerful than one laying a cement block on my chest. It sucked the air out of my lungs and made me bend over in desperation. Thank you for remindeing me. It is good we never forget.

Well it humbles me more than anything. We all learned together. My patients made the most progress. But they had to want to.
We worked together.
