    I get it, El. The darkness is there and can feel overwhelming. But the gray isn’t solid–it’s varied in hue, almost like a painting, with the stork appearing very pensive.

      The grey is freezing rain and wind. The heron has hunched its shoulders against an icy wind, trying to keep warm. He or she is I n a bad place just as we all are in the world of today.

    I wonder what the bird (stork?) feels…It may be a matter of each having his/her
    own perspective…to me, (he/she) appears to be meditating in the heavy rain. I see how it might convey lack of clarity and gloom, but there is a slight possibility he is peaceful and holding steady within, even in the middle of a thundering storm 🙂

      Yes, it has been gloomy which I confess to liking a bit but this heron is clearly having a hard time. Glad you got the mood and hope for improvement in circumstances.

        It is easy to give up in the middle of the raging storm…but every storm passes, there is sun shining hidden behind the clouds right now, there is blue sky waiting to be revealed again…there is hope, even when the clouds are so dark and thick. We can wait in trust that ‘this too shall pass’.
