Really nice treatment, and a good example of deceptive simplicity. Definitely in the spirit of MR.

I once had the job of helping to photograph and print Rothko’s early work when I was a student intern at the Guggeheim. He came a long way from those early figurative scenes! I’m sure he would have loved the sublime quality of your image that is an homage to his journey.

Oh, wow, thank you so much!! I love Rothko. And what a great job!!! Sounds like a plum position. The Gugg was an old hang-out of mine.

Best part of the job was getting to see early work that is rarely displayed. And, learning how to set up lighting to photograph paintings. Of course, going to the openings was fun also, seeing the crowds circling up the spiraling ramp…

Must have been a great experience!! All of it sounds good. But seeing early work, enviable.
