      Actually in some villages the shopkeepers were all men and the shoppers came later… the women. In a few towns women were also selling things but not wholesalers. I had wondered about that myself.

    The pictures are so colorful–but I wondered about the women as well. The lack of their presence is a huge comment on roles. Thanks for sharing these.
