TRIUMPH OF SPIRIT IN LOVE, NATURE & ART

Rapid Cycling

Patterns of the microcosm
echoed in the macrocosm
vibrating thoughts
no meditation
lots of frustration
can’t calm down
do the Hong Sau
Yogananda method
the only hope
in this mind
doing 120 mph
in a 35 mph zone

time soon for sleep
frogs singing
a pre-dawn high
drained at noon
rapid cycling
twilight now
back to racing
raving
raging mind
need gentility
humility
quietude
to feel awe
to ponder
hit “Pause”

love in the afternoon
a natural anti-
depressant
sent sight soaring
in space
seeing patterns
everywhere
echoing symphonically
in noisy ears
the hum of quiet
seems too loud
flashing lights
status migrainous
with all over
crawling feeling
“not-theres”

stop I say
stop I pray
stop the way
the world spins
hurling in space
the race
the pace
exhaustion
please
take this body
in your arms
work your charms
on this alarm-
ing state
with alacrity
the paucity
of peace
needs mending

Oh evening
send hope
for ending
these frantic antics
quell the panic
break the day
and bring on
the dawn
of dreams

A Microcosm of the Macrocosm

P1120126

To see a cathedral in a flower,

to be drunk with its nectar,

under an opalescent sky.

*

Infinity is our Home.  We are just sojourning awhile in the caravanserai of the body.”

The Leaf Devoured

P1110651_edited-1

Water droplets magnify

the verdant veins

 through which

the life giving  blood flows

through which

the life giving source

that keeps

giving life

 keeps

life going

despite the wear and tear

of an alien attack

by a catapulting caterpiller

that offers another creature

 a world within world

in which to live.

Despite

bitten tears,

bitter tears,

the leaf will live green

through the summer

and then shrivel to crimson,

life blood draining

and it will cry no more

as it drops dead

from the branch

where it lived

for a few short months.

It’s All Relative

P1000756 copy

In the land of the giant Lily

the little ant is King! *

Man thinks himself giant, so important, even grandiose, at times,

when, in relation to the universe,

he is of microscopic stature,

less in size than the tiniest of insects

who live in a veritable macroscosm beneath our feet.

(Adapted from the proverb: ” In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.”

The Microcosm and the Macrocosm

DSCN2375_edited-1

Grace flows through the limbs of a tree reaching skyward, its intricate patterns of branches pleasing the eye– just as grace flows through the orderly,  spikey branches of frost on a window.

Patterns repeated ad infinitum in all creation.

A microcosm of the macrocosm and a macrocosm of the microcosm.

God’s breath breathes through all.
