Notes from a Very Noisy Mind
Presence. Stay in present. Stop projecting into future. Stop the negative daydreams. Worse than nightmares. “What if”, “what if”,”what if” ad infinitum. Put ice yogurt on grocery list. Add potatoes.

My mind is very noisy in the middle of the night.
Keeps me awake, so I don’t get much sleep.
Tired!

Hello Ellen ji,
Gone through this post ” The Noisy mind” . Beautifully described the real situation during that period.
Indeed, a difficult time creates noise. But we can overcome. Your suggestions are very realistic and important.
The phrase “Yogas chitta Vritti Nirodha,” drawn from the teachings of yoga philosophy, encapsulates the essence of meditation. Translated as “Yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind,” it underscores the practice’s power to quiet the incessant chatter of our minds. Through meditation, individuals learn to observe their thoughts without judgement, gradually gaining mastery over the volatile fluctuations of the mind.
In the face of loss, meditation provides a space to grieve and heal. By turning inward, we can find refuge from the external world’s turmoil and connect with a deeper sense of self. The practise cultivates awareness and mindfulness, enabling us to confront challenges with greater resilience and equanimity. As we navigate the uncertainty of life, meditation becomes a lifeline that helps us confront fears, anxieties, and insecurities.
It is an awesome presentation by you. I’ve just gone through it.
Thanks for sharing. Namaste.

Hi Arun, really? I have done something right? Still struggling with thoughts during meditation. But the Buddhist nun, Pema Chodron, says she struggles with having many thoughts still and she is one of the great meditation teachers in Buddhism. You probably have read about her. Thank you so much for brightening my day. Namaste, Ellen
