A Snowy Drive to the Barn of our Dreams…
We were blessed to live there for 15 years. Now we revisit it some nights in our dreams.

Thank you so much, Julie, I was afraid it was tedious. Glad you appreciated the ride. Such beauty up there… we do dream about it and have so many photos and memories… I love the neighborhood scenes you have painted. Is it like a suburb? ❤️Ellen

Ellen, your road trip was the perfect start to my day! I do live and paint in the suburbs and I feel like we are in a kind of liminal space, between the rural and the urban here. 🏙️🌳

How do you feel about where you live. The suburbs seem like a great mix of both worlds. My husband grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and hated them. I loved them because I was always sent to the suburbs in Westchester County to stay with my grandparents. Growing up in New York City I really was starved for nature.

Let’s just say, the suburbs have grown on me. There are more good restaurants and shops here now, some within walking distance and a partially wild park nearby. I think what I like most, though, is that some of the trees have had a chance to mature.

Oh, it sounds lovely to me. But I know from his experience growing up in suburbs, there can be some drawbacks. But you sound happy where you are now and a partially wild park nearby sounds great!!

Just wanted to add one last thing, I think you and your husband made a really wise choice to live in the city.

Really, you must have your reasons. I will delight in your scenes of the suburbs. Thanks for saying that though.

Yes, it does. We have photos of it all around the apartment here in New York City. And a park nearby but the video brought back lots of memories as does every photo. I know you miss Chicago and the seasons but there must be pluses to living in Florida.

Yes, and it was my most creative time. Endless inspiration surrounded us. I suppose tourists to NYC feel that way. Anyhow thanks for stopping by.

Because there’s no snow in the Philippines, just watching the video feels cold already. 🥶
